VODACOM invests 170 Millions of Meticals to launch the 3G Technology
Vodacom Mozambique announced the launch and implementation of the 3g technology, an investment of 170 millions of Meticals.
“It is a substantial improvement of our services that allows our clients fast internet access wherever they are,” said Salimo Abdula, chairman of the board of directors.
With the access to the third generation network, Vodacom customers can navigate more quickly, since 3G provides faster data transmission. The multimedia services in real time constitute another benefit resulting from the 3G technology implementation.
With Vodacom 3g, the speed reaches up to 7.2 MBs per second.
At this stage of the launch, the 3G technology is available in the Maputo area, Matola Ponta D’ouro. Soon the technology will be available in Inhambane, Vilanculos, Inhassoro and the cities of Beira, Chimoio, Tete and Nampula.
“The 3G mobile internet will not only increase the internet access. The speed and the mobility of the 3G internet will provide, in medium and long term, an additional value to the economic and social development of our country,” stresses Salimo Abdula.
